Retirement Letter & Longevity Letter

August 16, 2020

7/24/2020

Dear Dennis Walcott, CEO & President,

I am writing to say farewell to you. I am pleased to tell you that the past over 23 years of my service in QPL has been one of the most rewarding experience in my life. I have greatly enjoyed my time as part of the Queens Library team. I feel very fortunate to have worked with such diverse customers and dedicated staff.

In the recent 4 months I am very much impressed by the precautionary measures taken by QPL management to protect the staff and our customers, while serving the diverse communities virtually online with various programs in the unprecedented time of COVID-19 pandemic, and the recent gradual re-opening of the physical library locations to welcome back our customers.

I'd like to thank all my supervisors and my colleagues for all the generous help, assistance, supports and understanding that were kindly rendered to me during the past 23 years.

Please accept this letter as my notice of retirement, with the last day of employment being September 4 Friday 2020. I wish the best for you and Queens Public Library in all future endeavors.

Best Regards,

Greg
